Getting SJW set up.
Everything you need to get from "just invited it" to "fully configured," in one place.
Getting Started
Invite SJW with the Add to Discord button, then either run /setup panel
in your server or open the web dashboard — both give you the same configuration
options, kept in sync automatically. Most servers only need to touch a handful of settings: an autorole,
a log channel, and whichever systems (leveling, tickets, giveaways) they actually plan to use.
Dashboard vs. Discord
Every setting is readable and editable from both places. The web dashboard is usually faster for anything
with a lot of fields (like ticket categories or embed building); /setup panel is handy when
you're already in Discord and don't want to switch tabs. There's no difference in what either one can do.
Systems Overview
For what each system actually does, see the Features page — every entry there expands to show its real, live command list. For the full command reference on its own, see Commands.
Economy Walkthrough
Everything runs on shards, split across two places: your pouch (what
you're carrying, at risk of theft) and your vault (protected, but can't be spent directly).
Move shards between them with /deposit and /withdraw.
Your first day:
Start with /daily for a free stipend, then /work for steady income. /beg
is a slower fallback with no cooldown risk. Check your totals anytime with /balance.
Taking risks:
/pickpocket lets you try to steal from one person's pouch, solo — it can fail, and it only
touches their pouch, never their vault. /heist is the higher-stakes version: rally other
players into a crew, and your odds of cracking the target's vault scale with how many people join.
More people means better odds, but also more shards split between everyone after.
Spending and growing:
/shop sells upgrades and gear, and a traveling caravan drops in periodically with limited-time
discounts. /rankup moves you up the noble ladder — Peasant onward — as your net worth grows.
/trade lets two players exchange shards or items directly. /inventory shows what
you're holding, and /shards / /sleaderboard show server-wide standings.
Exploring:
/venture sends you out to a location with a random narrative outcome — some trips pay off,
some don't. It's a separate risk/reward loop from work and heists, worth trying once you've got a safety
net built up in your vault.
Feeling lucky? /shardtoss is the gambling command — purely optional, purely for players who
want the extra risk. Toggle gameplay tips on or off anytime with /toggle-advice.
Permissions
The web dashboard shows a server in your list once two things are true: you have Manage Server or Administrator permission in it, and SJW is actually a member of it. If a server you own or manage isn't showing up, double check both of those.
